The image seems to be flawless. There is only a slight degrade of image quality when I use 12.5mm eyepiece with 2x barlow lens, resulting a magnification of 333X. Well, I will call up Meade tomorrow to see how much it cost to fix the telescope.

Re: Diffraction Pattern of My Cracked LX90

I am going to try to block cracked part by using a customized cardboard. It
will enhance the view for sure but the amount of light gathered will be
reduced by around 15%. A Harttman mask is not a good solution as it will block
quite a lot of incoming photons.

Regards.

-Robin Lee
Founder of CHHS Astronomy Club, Kluang, Johor, Malaysia
My Astronomy Blog- www.AstronomyNotes.net
Or Astrobin.com

Re: Diffraction Pattern of My Cracked LX90

Have you tried to use a mask in front of your corrector? maibe a Harttman mask with three circular holes could work.
It would reduce the light that your scope recolects but it could serve to see bright objects.
